In another life, Edge could have been a rock star. From his voluminous hair to his long leather jackets and double-horns signature pose, every detail of his WWE image screamed it. Before he stepped in the ring, as the pyro blasted into the air behind him on the entranceway, he injected arenas with the energy of a packed concert – without the dangers of crowd-surfing and mosh pits. There was even a legion of groupies – Edgeheads – who tracked his every move.
It's no surprise, then, that Edge is a guitar collector and grew up listening to KISS, a band famous for their flamboyant outfits and outrageous stage antics. What is a surprise is how a shy high schooler from the little town of Orangeville, Ontario, evolved into The Rated-R Superstar.

The WWE Universe was stunned to see Edge walk into the sold-out STAPLES Center to be in Christian’s corner for his World Heavyweight Championship match against Randy Orton.
But after the 11-time World Champion received a standing ovation from the more than 17,000 in attendance, the bigger surprise was when Edge berated his lifelong friend for how he won the World Title – through whining for rematches, hiding behind lawyers and eventually capturing the title by disqualification. Although proclaiming to be Christian’s friend until the day he dies, he walked out him, forcing him to fend for himself.
As Christian looked ready to grab the championship, Brodus Clay entered the ring, hurling him down to the canvas. Del Rio then attempted to climb to glory. But, his seemingly certain success was “horned in on” by the sudden emergence of Edge. The smiling Ultimate Opportunist cruised into the arena in a Jeep. The distraction he caused with his horn allowed Captain Charisma time to push over Del Rio’s ladder, sending him out of the ring and onto Clay and Ricardo Rodriguez. Then, with Edge cheering him on, Christian rose to the top of the ladder and claimed the World Heavyweight Title for the biggest victory of his illustrious career.
At WrestleMania, in front of more than 70,000 ecstatic members of the WWE Universe, World Heavyweight Champion Edge reigned supreme over Alberto Del Rio. After shattering the aristocratic adversary’s self-proclaimed moment of destiny, The Ultimate Opportunist and Christian delivered a merciless facelift to Del Rio’s prized luxury automobile.
At WWE Elimination Chamber, World Heavyweight Champion Edge outlasted Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre to emerge victorious from the mind-altering abyss that is the Elimination Chamber Match for the second time in his career. It was the first time in more than five years that the sitting champion had retained his title in such a match. Afterward, when Alberto Del Rio laid siege on the 11-time World Champion, it was Christian who carried out a surprise rescue.
